Dr. Frank works with the client and family members to develop a comprehensive treatment plan to address the particular needs and concerns of individuals and families. This collaborative approach to treatment involves exploration of concerns, development of strategies and skills to manage or overcome difficulties and ongoing assessment of therapeutic progress. A key component of therapeutic intervention is to facilitate healthy communication between client and family members. When people feel loved and understood they are more likely to thrive.
Dr. Frank integrates therapeutic strategies from a variety of psychotherapy models including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral treatments. The therapeutic process is used to foster understanding of the nature and origins of life struggles. Interventions are utilized to determine the interrelatedness between three domains: thoughts, feelings and actions. Clients are encouraged to explore how making changes in any one of these three domains will lead to positive change. Dr. Frank works with clients to facilitate acceptance and distress tolerance skills so that they can manage new challenges.
